Piano Piano is an authentic Italian restaurant in Rathgar, born from a love of slow cooking and simple ingredients. With a dash of Italian flair and a generous sprinkle of passion, our story began, slowly, steadily like a rich sauce simmering until it’s just right.
From the very first evening, laughter found its way through our cosy trattoria. Glasses clinked, friends gathered, and the warmth of Italy settled into the air. In the kitchen, dough was kneaded, pasta was rolled by hand, and simple ingredients were transformed into something memorable.
Every dish at Piano Piano is a small chapter in our culinary tale rooted in tradition, lifted by creativity, and always made with love. And our name, which means “slowly, slowly” in Italian, is more than a name. It’s our philosophy: a reminder to take your time, savour the flavours, and celebrate life’s best moments around the table.

Had a really nice time with the family. We got various dishes including the Picante pizza, pappardelle pasta, meatballs, and a special that included delicious clams. Service was great and even met the chef. Would definitely recommend for a for a great evening and delicious food

Went to Piano Piano for lunch recently and was not disappoint. The service was very friendly and the food was sublime. I hate when you go to a restaurant and when ordering a steak they give you a serrated knife. If a steak is cooked correctly a butter knife should be able to cut through it. The steak I got at Piano Piano could have been cut with a wooden spoon it was so tender. I had Panna Cotta for dessert and it was the creamiest most flavourful Panna I've ever had. Everyone in our party savaged their meals. We'll definitely be back.

First time visit and certainly won't be the last. The best local family friendly restaurant we've come across in the area. Quality of the food was excellent and the staff were fantastic. Menu was perfect for us, brilliant options for grown ups and kids. Cocktail and wine menu add another plus.
