Piano Piano is an authentic Italian restaurant in Rathgar, born from a love of slow cooking and simple ingredients. With a dash of Italian flair and a generous sprinkle of passion, our story began, slowly, steadily like a rich sauce simmering until it’s just right.
From the very first evening, laughter found its way through our cosy trattoria. Glasses clinked, friends gathered, and the warmth of Italy settled into the air. In the kitchen, dough was kneaded, pasta was rolled by hand, and simple ingredients were transformed into something memorable.
Every dish at Piano Piano is a small chapter in our culinary tale rooted in tradition, lifted by creativity, and always made with love. And our name, which means “slowly, slowly” in Italian, is more than a name. It’s our philosophy: a reminder to take your time, savour the flavours, and celebrate life’s best moments around the table.

“Absolutely outstanding experience. The staff were genuinely brilliant, attentive, friendly and made the whole visit feel effortless from start to finish. The food was on another level, easily some of the best we’ve had, every dish was spot on.
What really stood out was how well the place is set up for families. It’s rare to find somewhere that delivers top quality food while still being so comfortable and welcoming for kids.

First time visit and certainly won't be the last. The best local family friendly restaurant we've come across in the area. Quality of the food was excellent and the staff were fantastic. Menu was perfect for us, brilliant options for grown ups and kids. Cocktail and wine menu add another plus.

Diabolical. Tiny portion of carbonara, and I have tasted better out of a jar in Lidl. Completely unconcerned when I complained too. Laughable prices for food
which wasn’t as good as my daughter used to bring home from Domestic Science in school.

Very nice small Italian place. Group Had carbonara and chicken with bruschetta, meatballs, and Caesar salad as appetizers. Everything was delicious, service was attentive.

Thought the portions a little small, thr Fruir de Mer was short on fish and been charged +€5.00 for the chicken dish on the early bird menu was a disappointment when you saw how small the chicken was with no side servings.
